Hi, I am planning to buy my first motorhome with a budget of £17/18,000 and would like to know what is the best time of the year to buy. I would welcome any advice from others on this bb. Regards Bruce Mackenzie

Now is about as good a time as you'll get because there are a few who consider this the end of the camping season. Consider what you require in your motorhome and make a list of must have features and would like features then look around, visit dealers, visit shows, scan the classifieds for one that meets your chosen criteria. Bruce It's exactly the right time to buy, Dealers need to move their stock to enable them to bring in all the new models. As they say everything is negotiable, it's just that NOW it is even more so. Don't know what type of van you are looking for, but a small increase in your budget could put you into a "new" 2006 model for the smaller Coachbuilts, as there seems there are still a lot on Dealers forecourts. Though it will mean accepting a EURO 3 spec engine, but I suspect you were thinking in terms of a 2nd hand Van, which would have this engine anyway. The reason there is a glut of new 2007 Base vehicles models is that the manufacturer's now have to comply with the EURO4 engine specification. Manufacturer's can no longer supply EURO 3 spec engines, by EU regulation. Dealers will be getting very concerned about have NEW Vehicles to EURO 3 spec and if they won't deal, simply walk away. There will be plenty of other who will. Flicka

The best time to buy is never. Not if you want to keep hold of your cash and your sanity. :D
