donna and daz
Having just realised my Husband is not working over new year we fancied going up to Edinburgh, unfortunatly CC site is full and it doesn't look like the other two we found are open. Anyone any ideas about sites that are open? Anyone done any wild camping in Edinburgh? Thanks Donna
Mel B
Have you had a look to see if there are any CLs open near Edinburgh? As more and more are getting electric hook up etc you might find a few so long as you don't want to be right in the city itself.
whbs
I must confess (quietly) that I have on a couple of occasions, parked in a side street in the middle of Edinburgh then stayed overnight - with the lights off so that no sign of occupancy was visible. If you drive to a (decent) residential area and park in a street (not in front of anyone's house), it will be assumed that you are visiting a resident there. Naughty, but I originate from that beautiful city and feel at home.
Norma
(Whispering) The spot I have seen wild campers is at the Hermiston Park & Ride, just off the bypass. Mind you it may be a bit obvious using it for a couple of days! Have you tried Mortonhall - http://www.meadowhead.co.uk/ I don't know of any nearby CL's - apart from the one at Damhead, which I'm sure, if it's open, will be fully booked. Lothian Bridge, found at, http://www.caravan-sitefinder.co.uk/parks/3067/view is another site worth looking at. I don't know if it is open, but the phone number is there. Good luck
