Derek Uzzell
Obviously the rear brake drums will have to be removed to replace the brake shoes, but I don’t envisage any need to remove the hubs. There was a somewhat similar inquiry in 2011 regarding a 2002 Boxer. The advice related to Ducato rear brakes but should be relevant to your vehicle https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Rear-Brake-Drums-Removal/22916/ This is the sort of task that can go easily or go badly wrong. If you were planning to change the shoes yourself and have any reservations about doing it, I strongly suggest you get the shoes replaced professionally by someone who will confirm that they know what is involved and that you have reasonable confidence in. See this yesterday’s inquiry http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Boxer-handbrake-cable-stretched-help-needed/39065/#M470405
