Hundreds of people around Calais - absolutely desperate to escape from France.

............... and we're all going over there for a holiday.

Funny old world.

;-)

Not such a funny old world really, we all take our own hard earned money to spend in France, they want to come to the UK to be given free money, somewhere free to live, and free health care for doing bugger all.

All they get in France is a sand dune

Hi

Would be of interest if anyone has used the tunnel or the ferry, return journey, in the past 2 weeks and how long it took. We used the ferry at the end of June and sailed through (no pun intended) :-D

I have mentioned on various threads about this. Came through Calais about two weeks ago, even stayed the night on the marina aire, no problems at all and no delays. Sailing out the main port aire looked pretty full and marina was about half full so not many to bothered by it.

Hi we went over through the tunnel on the 23rd of July and has a problem getting to Dover due to traffic and suffered a 2 hour delay on booked time.

Leaving the tunnel we saw a number of immigrants around the the A16 and the lorries queuing on the French operation stack. Saw some trying to open a moving lorry even. No police though.

Came back Sunday this week, no immigrants to be seen and got in an earlier train even.

If you want to keep updated the le shuttle Twitter feed is brilliant at updating you and will reply to tweets.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I wonder why they could possibly want to come to Britain when most of us here want to get to France! :-)

With regards using the Channel Tunnel, we arrived at Calais on Friday 7th August for a 09.20 crossing to Folkestone. Very quiet and saw no sign of anyone on foot. We were put on an earlier train and everything ran very smoothly.

We returned to Folkestone yesterday, to go home to Germany, and arrived for a 14:50 crossing and was again put on an earlier train. The whole place was very quiet and the car park was almost deserted. Again it was a very smooth crossing and no sign of anyone who shouldn’t be there.

Hope this helps.

Do you believe everything you read in the Daily Mail?

A French Police Officer at the sharp end has told us why they want to come to Britain.

Same old problem - Britain needs to sort out its Black Economy.

Britain is the only country where these illegal immigrants can get a job without a passport or identity card!!!!!!

But Cameron doesn't want to know that.

Its as though he has got his fingers in his ears.

He would rather twist the facts and use it as an excuse to pursue the Tory Vendetta against people on benefits....

Except of course the biggest benefit claimants of all - The Royal Hangers On...
