Gypsy
Our existing motorhome, a Laika Ecovip H680, is named "Lily"; we like the alliteration "Lily Laika"! Lily will shortly be for sale as we have ordered an IH Motor Campers Oregon Re (on a Renault Master) - due to be delivered in Spring 2007. Now ......... what can we call her, or him? Various printable suggestions so far include "Onslow", "Ollie", "d'Ollie" as we like alliteration. None of these are particularly appealing. So, what would you call ours? All suggestions gratefully received. And, out of interest, what do you call yours? *-)
Norma
Sorry to here you are shrinking! And yes, I still remember your name...
PetMice
Olive, Olivia, (or Oliver if male, check underneath, back end) from which Ollie must derive, can mean peace - i.e. olive branches. Odessa - implies journeys (0dyssey). Obelia sounds pleasant (zoologist, me - a colonial animal related to sea anemones and jellyfish). A Herbie name, Oregano? Lizzy
Our Anglia estate registration was EVF so she was 'Effie'. The Maroon Escort I'm selling is 'Essie' ........ I'm buying a Toyota tomorrow with the reg WKY - so she'll be Whisky ;-) even though she's pale blue. We haven't given the Volvo estate a name yet, other than 'work-horse' as we can fit 5 bosses in easily :-) Eventually our motorhome will be 'at last' :-D

PP
Our 1st motorhome had MVS as part of its numberplate so we called her MAVIS. What else? Our present motorhome is an Autohomes Wild Wind. What to call her? Various members of the family came up with rude suggestions, none of which I would print here!! One suggestion was POPOV which then became POPPY. So now we travel every month with a lovely lady whom we like very much. In the wardrobe we discovered a spare numberplate and at the bottom, where normally the garage would put its name etc., there was printed PASSING WIND!! The previous owner had a sense of humour similar to ours!!
Ranger
Our last 'van which we had for a long time was a Holdsworth Ranger, The number plate was "OPM" so we called her "Poppy". The van we have now is an Autotrail Cherrokee we were going to call it Indian Chief, but that is not P.C. And Native American doesn't sound so good so it is just "The Van"

CISCO
Hi Gypsy, The official insect of Oregon is the Oregon Swallowtail (Papilio oregonious). This strikingly beutiful butterfly, predominatly yellow, is a wary, stong flier not easily captured. A couple of the many web sites for info: www.oregon.gov/index.shtml or www.traveloregon.com Just an idea to associate your new purchase with a state that, in there words, welcomes dreamers. We have a Laika 7r and we call him CISCO (Named after the horse in the film - Dances with Wolves) It was said in the film that it got the rider everywhere he wanted to go and never let him down. Touch wood etc - seven years on he's lived up to his name. Regards - and HNY to all - danda
