kerryblue
Hi, We had a New Heki 2 Delux Rooflight fitted before purchasing our Nu Venture Rio Sand. This model comes with integrated lights, however, the fitters neglected to install the wiring/switch and as this has nice subdued lighting we would like to have it operational! Does anyone know if this can be done easily to the rooflight once it has been fitted. Thanks
Derek Uzzell
Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums. There are some details of the Heki 2 Deluxe rooflight here http://www.leisurespares.co.uk/files/heki_ii_delux.pdf The photo on the final page (Page 2.3.4) shows how the lamp-holders are fitted in the rooflight’s inner frame and suggest that accessing the lamp-holders and cabling should be just a matter of unclipping the light covers. If you are lucky removing the covers will reveal a connection-block (or unconnected wires) that can be used to connect the rooflight’s lamps to a 12V power-supply/switch. Assuming that the cabling, lamp-holders and lamps are actually present in your rooflight (!!!), you’d then need to decide how best to run 12V power to it, How easy that would prove will depend on your Rio Sand’s wiring system and, personally, if I had found the wiring (etc.) behind the rooflight’s lamp covers, I’d jury-rig a 12V supply to the rooflight to check that it actually worked before wiring it up properly.
