silverbike
Hello all We are crossing on a night ferry from Dover and plan to stop at the Dunkirk terminal car park for the rest of the night. As we won't arrive till 3.am can anyone give us directions to the car park. Do we need to leave the port and re-enter or is it accessible immediately once we get off the ferry.? Don't mean to sound so needy but don't want to be b-----ing about in the dark at 3 in the morning! Thanks PS is it the large, virtually empty car park visible on Google maps? suntrecker38
There is a Aire de Campingcar at Graveline 20 mins away co ordinates N50 59'19" E02 07'21" ideal for either Dunkerque or Calais.

StuartO
At Dunkirk after leaving the ferry you are routed to a roundabout. Instead of going first right to escape, go right round the roundabout and take the exit marked "Ticket Office" or words to that effect. This leads on to a large mostly level car park in front of the DFDS building where you can have a nice quiet sleep for a few hours, no problem. And yes you can view it on Google Earth but bear in mind the Treminal is some distance west of the Town of Dunkirk, near the entrance to the outer port. silverbike
Thanks for all your comments-very helpful. We may well stop at Gravelines on the way back for an early return time but not at that time of the morning!
