921 bulb LED replacement

shaggy

Recommended Posts

Some help please, I wish to replace 3 interior bulbs which have 921 bulbs fitted at the moment and replace them with equivalent LEDs, whilst I have replaced all the other bulbs for their equivalents in LED, I don't want to make an expensive mistake with the incorrect fittings.

Do the 921 bulbs have what is known as a wedge fitting, and are all wedge fittings the same size,or are there different sizes.

I wish the light output to be equivalent to approx 20w in a warm white.

Thanks

Gavin

'Wedge base’ bulbs do differ, but you can find technical details of the 921 bulb here

The non-LED version is a generic ‘automotive’ bulb often used in reversing lights, so you may find obtaining an LED version that provides the light-output and warm-white colour you are looking for tricky to source.

This advert may be of interest

and, provided that the product being offered will fit in your motorhome’s light units, are possibly cheap enough to take a chance on. (As delivery is free, you could always buy one bulb initially.) LED versions of the 921 bulb are advertised for their brightness, so even 260lm may be too bright for comfort - the ones in this advert are said to produce 800lm

Thanks Derek, I had found the 260lm version , but I think it will be too bright. I don't know why Chausson supplied 921 fittings/ bulbs, strange when as you say they are designed for brake lights.

I will keep looking unless someone else has any suggestions.

Various websites suggest a T10 fitting should be compatible with 921.

If this is the case, then subject to the geometry of the light fitting, you may find something here that meets your needs:

Aten are good to do business with, and also at responding to questions.

Thanks, I also came to the same conclusion that they were the same as a T10 fitting, then it took me a while to try and find the (hopefully) correct brightness and in warm white.

I have just ordered the below and fingers crossed they will be ok

Thanks again
