Denmark

Just back from a quick trip to Denmark. What a fabulous country for driving. Big empty roads and probably the most courteous drivers in Europe. Although the country has a reputation for being expensive and 25% VAT doesn't help, by using ACSI or in some cases not, sites were generally cheaper than in the UK. Fuel is also significantly cheaper and it goes further if you are cruising at the legal maximum of 80kph on ordinary roads. Just set your cruise to that and there will be five cars perfectly spaced line astern making no attempt to overtake.

One of our reasons for going was that for us "Northern Brits" Denmark is actually closer to home than Calais.

All in all a super trip in which we saw many lovely people and many interesting sights (and sites because wild camping is discouraged). I recommend this country as an introduction to the cool and stylish Scandinavia.
