AL-KO Chassis Options

I’m looking at a new van with AL-KO chassis which may have three additional options:

1. Reinforced front spring,

2. ACS high performance front strut,

3. ALC level controller.

Can anyone say if any of these are worthwhile? What do they do?

#2 is a replacement front strut designed to give more ride comfort. I'd guess that along with #1 you'd get increased ride height and more comfort.

Personally I don't have a problem with the standard Sevel front suspension, it's the rear Al-KO axle that is a bone-shaker and were I to consider buying another van with an Al-Ko chassis I wouldn't be picking from Al-Ko's option list but would instead factor in the cost of VB full air suspension into the decision.

Thanks for some useful feedback, Steve. I was looking for personal experience. Are you suggesting that the Fiat chassis is more comfortable than AL-KO?

I’ll consider full air suspension, as long as it does not impede the payload too much.
