Electric bike insurance for Europe 90 days plus??????

Good morning everyone

Just spent 2.5k on two electric bikes, and think a good plan to insure them. Methinks no point in having insurance if you do not read the small print! All policies I have found so far, will only allow 90 day in any one trip European cover. We will be away for approx 6 months in one go.any ideas you clever people!

Thanks so much

Fiona

We have just insured our new electric bikes with Assetsure. The standard policy did not give us the period of cover we wanted, so they ran our requirements past the underwriters who covered us for a slightly higher premium. Phone number: 0208 0033 190. They were very helpful.

Cheers,

Gwen

Anyone wanting cycle insurance, including electric bikes, should look at what The Cyclists touring Club , ( CTC) has to offer. They do a range of individual or family memberships that include European third party cover, also 365 days cycle cover through Butterworth Spengler is available.

Just had a look at that. But the premium was quite a bit more than what I paid for our cover [around £50 more]. And if you add on the CTC membership it would be rather a lot more. Our insurer was able to make the adjustments to the standard policy to give us what we need.
