A5GHE
Hi , I have recently bought an old T1000 camper van . Would anyone be able to advise me if the fuel pump from a 1996 T1000 will fit my 1989 model. Both are 2068cc Diesels. Thanks
docted
Probably best to ask a motor factor if part numbers for both vans are the same.unless we have a Renault specialist on board.

paulmold
You could always join the Renault Trafic Motorhome Register, very knowledgeable people on there although it will cost to join. http://www.rtmr.org/

It could be an absolutely crap forum, there is no way of telling beforehand. Surely a taster would be advantageous for prospective members? Sorry can't help there, I'm not a member but am a member of Autosleeper Owners Forum where several members have Renault Trafics and am only passing on comments I've read on there. I do know the RTMR have stocks of hard-to-find parts as well.

aandncaravan
I thought the later T1000 pump had a higher flow rate pumping a bit more fuel into each cylinder?. Try Brant diesel Injection specialists on 01522 788295. Very, very good. He does all our Diesel pump rebuilds and Injectior cleaning. It is a small company, the owner is very knowledgeable and pleasant gentleman to deal with. His specialty is the mechanical Diesel pumps used in agriculture, etc but seems to know every thing about Diesel mechanical pumps. You might find it cheaper to let him rebuild your old Pump rather than fit a secondhand one which may not be perfect? He is not expensive and they come back like new. Suggest that on that age of van you get the Injectors rebuilt, it always makes a big difference, even on an engine that isn't that bad?
George Collings
The Bosch pumps of that era can be refurbished back like new as can the injectors. These motors are now considered " very dirty" but once sorted can go for years with regular (relatively cheap) oil changes. Don't go into the London LEZ (low emission zone) it will cost £100 a day, And many German areas have similar areas.
