Alan D
Not sure if it`s been covered, but is it true that being out of the country for over a month can create problems for uk citizens regarding government payments, pensions, nhs etc ? Alan D
I understood there was to be new legislation in the offing, and wondered if anyone knew, as you say this will be important if true. Alan
PJay
As has been said . Lot's of us would be in trouble. I believe if you are in hospital for any length of time , you are supposed to inform the pension people? I guess this is because you are being paid for by the NHS. Don't know how this works i expect some-one will come along with some experience of this , maybe? PJay
Mike B.
That's us up the creek then! No pension untill 66, no interest on savings, NHS falling apart and tax on the pension when you get it-Welcome to Old Age & Retirement. (only for a month though!!!) Great! henrypartridge
You los pension credit and housing benefit after being abroad for a month. It was in Boy Georges spending review. Typical petty nastiness while banke s get off the hook. I don't know when it comes into effect. I have to say that when I go abroad by plane they don't scan my passport. I think they did at Eurotunnel.
