Jonboymentalhealth Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Unfortunately store my motorhome in a yard so unable to photo, but my swift escape has a metal rail round the edge of the sides/roof, it doesn't look as wide as the old caravan awning rails but is this what it is? And if sonwhat type of connector would I need to use it? Thanks

Sydney1 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Not clear from pictures exactly which rail you are referring to. Is it an awning rail something like this? https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=awning+rail&safe=active&biw=1366&bih=573&tbm=isch&imgil=zqAOdIeK_BK6TM%253A%253BFUdBhOBZtBMBiM%253Bhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.norwichcamping.co.uk%25252Fproducts%25252Faluminium-awning-rail-12m%25252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=zqAOdIeK_BK6TM%253A%252CFUdBhOBZtBMBiM%252C_&usg=__Zezc36eugv1eOo5K4oGK2MkQ_2c%3D&ved=0ahUKEwjLjonivsnKAhWG6CwKHQQNCX0QyjcIRg&ei=inSoVsuhDobRswGEmqToBw#imgrc=zqAOdIeK_BK6TM%3A or a piece of aluminium extrusion to connect or trim the roof/side wall interface which may have a rubber insert to finish it off?
Jonboymentalhealth Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 It's kinda like that but smaller opening, I'm hoping its awning rail but not sure, if goesvallacros the roof and around luton
Robinhood Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 ...it sounds very much like you are referring not to an awning rail, but to the jointing strip that covers the joint between the walls and the roof. The construction will be a bit like this: http://www.olearymotorhomes.co.uk/corner-moulding-cs108-113-p.asp ...the flat section on the right is "screwed through" at intervals, and is designed to take a pvc "herzim strip" along its length, tucked in under the flanges, to hide all the screws. From this very site, the following is what I'm talking about (and possibly you as well). https://wgp-cdn.co.uk/OAL/jpg/imports_2-alloy-trim-screws-joints_87180/
Jonboymentalhealth Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 Hmmm back to the drawing board then, I want an awning but not sure I like the idea of just throwing over roof or if will cover solar panel
