I'm depressed

and it's all the wifes fault. For some reason just as I'm settling down to a nice relaxing cup,of coffee after our evening meal she switches to road travel reports on the TV. I've no idea why seems to be some sort of morbid fascination with it. 17 mile here 15 there or six hour delays all, over the place. I was looking forward to getting back on the road as usual in April now I think I'll just stay in bed or,possibly restrict traveling to late at night or the wee small, hours of the morning. Actually before we retired that is just what we used to do and it did make travel less probimatical.

Sorry about all the commas I'm to,depressed to go,back and get rid of them.

Thank you Dave, I resemble that remark.

And anyway what makes you think that Colin can read my cracking jokes if he has to get his poor long suffering wife to read the traffic and travel reports for him - no wonder he is depressing - sorry depressed!

Still with friends like us the road to recovery should be long and winding - with several 15 mile tailbacks and long delays at every port, and you can't even make a cuppa tea in case the long queue starts to move on twenty yards at a time.

Oh dear - now I'm getting depressing too!

Things are going from bad to worse. I'm not only depressed now but worried as well. Keep getting emails offering to plan my funeral for me. What do,they all know that I don't? Bumped into my doctor in the butchers the other day and he reckons I look fit enough so I'm hoping he's right.

At least if you ever need a transplant it's kinda nice to know that replacement bits to fit are available from your local butcher so he should not make a pigs ear of it!

Lucky you

Yep B-) ........supposed to be here until the first week of April, but our house buyers have now secured a cash buyer for their property, so we may have to dash back earlier than planned, although "dash" is a relative term......As it'll take us a week to dash :D .......

It's great for the winter, but I couldn't take a summer here, we're sat in the van at the moment coz its too hot B-) .......

Plan is to downsize and Sue wants to be near a bus stop, I cant make up my mind whether to retire completely or not :-S ........

Suspect it'll be decided by the property we buy, if its too nice to rent out I'll carry on working.......occasionally :-> ...

But we have to sell first.......this'll be the 3rd time we've got to the exchange of contracts *-) .......

After spending too many years living in Sussex I gave it all in and moved to Shetland with £5,500 in my pocket and hope in my heart. Just over a decade later and I am still here. I remember a shocking event about 4 years ago when at rush hour I saw 15 cars queued on one of the approach roads to the roundabout. It looked hellish!

It took me 6 months to stop being depressed because I retired and felt guilty that I was enjoying every day doing what I wanted to do. Then the codriver & I purchased a MH and all of a sudden I was no longer depressed! I got out of the city rate race and followed the sun where the traffic was light. Returned home every 6 weeks or so to tidy the garden etc. we stay home in the school holidays ( hate crowds) then go. Dave maybe if you decide to hang up the cordless drill and retire your depression will go away like mine did. If Spain is too hot in summer there is always a nice mountain stream somewhere along the Alps to park next to and enjoy the cool air. Try it for 6 months you might find it fits. Cheers,

You haven't been to the parts of Spain or Portugal, I've been, and for someone who doesn't use the peage, I frankly think this is a windup.
