Unless you have refillable bottles and the correct filler adapters you will be out of luck - and gas - unless you are incredibly lucky and find someone who will refill your UK bottles.

Adapters are easily available on line as are lists of lpg suppliers in Spain.

It might be easier to buy a Spanish bottle and pigtail - or regulator if you van predates the bulkhead regulator - and for this car boot sales can be a good source - if you are lucky.

Sorry don't know about Gibraltar, have you tried Googling it?

In my experience, no you will not get GB bottles refilled, only proper refillable bottles or tanks. Tracker is dead right, car boots for Repsol/Cepsa bottles, expect to pay 10 to 15 E for one. Regulator's and pigtails are available at proper ironmonger's, the country is run on bottled gas.

Portugal is the place for filling any bottles, in fact they would probably put gas in a bucket for you!

Any Camping Gaz for my campervan?

You can buy/exchange Camping Gaz at most large Ferretarias (Hardware Shops) .Campsites and Motorhome dealers here in Spain..If your cupboard will allow getting a Spanish Bottle and pigtails would be a cheaper option.

I'd still have to carry the original Camping Gaz cylinder, so I'd rather stick to that dear though it is, but it is good to know that you can buy them. For future ref though, for my planned next van I would still need similar 3.9kg cylinders, are they the same size/shape?

Hi Slightly off topic but is this small ("campingaz-sized") refillable an option for "future ref"..?http://www.gasproducts.co.uk/acatalog/Gaslow_R67_2.7kg_Refillable_Cylinder_1_with_Level_Gauge.html

This link may be useful if refilling Calor bottles in the Costa del Sol area is being considered:

http://gasbottlerefill.com/

http://tinyurl.com/jl3ml3s

..........................................................................................................................................................

A Campingaz 907 bottle contains around 2.7kg of butane and its dimensions are 250mm(Height) x 202mm(Diameter).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campingaz

The equivalent Gaslow R67 bottle contains 4.6 litres of gas (nominally 2.7kg by weight, though this would depend on the mixture of the autogas). Its dimensions are 310mm(H) x 202mm(D). The extra height over the Campingaz 907 bottle is due to the connections and level-gauge on the R67 bottle’s top.

http://www.gaslowdirect.com/Gaslow-R67-3kg-Refillable-Cylinder-No1

The smallest Calor propane or butane bottle’s dimensions are 340mm(H) x 240mm(D). The bottles' capacity by weight is 3.9kg(propane) or 4.5kg(butane).

https://www.calor.co.uk/3-9kg-propane-gas-bottle.html

https://www.calor.co.uk/4-5kg-butane-gas-bottle.html

It is possible to exchange Campingaz bottles in most European countries (though not always easily and definitely not cheaply) and to refill Gaslow R67 bottles at service-stations selling autogas. Calor bottles (as I’m sure most people will be aware) SHOULD only be exchanged, and exchange is only possible within the UK.

Usually there is always some one on some Spanish sites who wheels and deals in used gas gear for touring caravans and motorhomes, just have a walk round, you might spot one. If you go on Villasol in Benidorm there's a Dutch guy who sells just about everything you might need for very little money. There is also a company called Stones who will fix you up. Obviously the best system to have fitted is Gaslow which you can fill up at many service stations along your way.
