violet1
Hi I have at last collected my new (to me) motorhome, the blind near the cooker is dirty do any of you have any tips for cleaning it or do I just have to live with it? Thanks in advance.
Tracker
I presume you mean the spring loaded cassette roll up type? Not easy, but can be done with reasonable results with care. We use a mild flash liquid type solution in quite warm but too hot water and with the blind fully open wash and dry each side (outside from outside the van). Similarly with the flyscreen part if it has one. Handle very gently and do be aware that if it is old or sun hardened the blind may split with too much pressure and it can come out of it's tracks and be the devil's own job to get it back in, and the retaining cords can sometimes break, and replacing them really is not a job for the faint hearted! PJay
We took our blinds off to give the a really good clean. The "net" insect ones, I soaked in the bath, so as to keep them flat. It got off all the what looked like mildew specks off , a treat. IMO it's worth doing , should last a few years , before having to do it again. The one behind the cooker does get greasy, so even if you don't do all blinds, worth taking that one off PJay
violet1
Thank you both, opted for the gentle rubbing with diluted Star Drops and it has lifted it somewhat, may have another go in a couple of weeks.
