Portable Wind Turbine Survey

All,

I am currently a final year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Bath and I am in the process of developing a DIY portable wind turbine made from your old washing machine.

The Phoenix project came about as a result of the circular economy drive and focuses on reuse rather than recycle. I am trying to collect data from potential users in order to help formulate the final specifications for the product, the link to the survey I have prepared in order to help me collate this information can be found below:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1FTxbVjQOecgG16KkDRjjcHylxqAKLZdw9zPaoMhAYMo/viewform

I will be extremely grateful for any responses as the more people respond, the better I can understand the potential users of the product and therefore the better I can develop the product to meet these users needs.

Regards,

Before starting to answer the linked survey best to read the whole item through to the end!

If you post your message on several sections many people will, rightly or wrongly, see it as yet more spam and ignore it.

One of the major problems in motorhoming is balancing different priorities within the overall weight of the vehicle, especially given the vehicle licensing requirements, and power consumption is one of the priorities that needs to be managed.

Motorhomers who need power, when not using electrical hook ups provided by campsites, will often double up on batteries and fit lightweight solar panels. There are other solutions used by motorhomers including lightweight portable wind turbines and generators.

If your offering is cheaper than a solar panel, weighs less, provides at least the same consistency of power top up as a solar panel, and looks good on a reasonable high priced vehicle, then you might have a chance.
