cleddytanhouse Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I think that most new motorhomes use composite panels for the external walls. Has anyone any experience of them delaminating? Mine has and I think that it may be a problem! !
Derek Uzzell Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Body-panel delamination is rare-ish but far from unknown as this GOOGLE-search and earlier forum discussion will show https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=ssl&ei=1bHvVuG9KcjFaLf_o5AF#q=motorhome+bodypanel+delamination http://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Delaminated-Panel/31464/ I recall a motorhome dealer telling me (years ago) about a very dissatified owner of an under-warranty Auto-Sleepers model presenting him with a long list of faults that had emerged during several months with the vehicle static in the hot Spanish sun. Some of the problems were major and Auto-Sleepers agreed to inspect the motorhome at their Willersley factory. The dealer subsequently received a phone-call from one of the Trevelyan brothers informing him that a complete new body-side was to be fitted to the motorhome and the buyer was happy with this. “We’ll see”, the dealer said...
Keithl Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I assume this is on your AT Tracker? If so how have you arrived at the conclusion it is a delaminating side panel and could this possibly be related to your recent water leak? ie is it in the same area of the MH? http://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Moisture-Content/41028/ Keith.
cleddytanhouse Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 It is the Tracker and it is the same area as the leak. The dealer described it as delamination and the MH is back with them to resolve the issue. I am not happy with what has happened and fear that it will be a battle to get satisfaction from AT.
