Kazzie
Hi Guys, Before I depart these shores I am endeavouring to stop as many squeaks and rattles as I can. One annoyance is plates rattling in the plate rack. My plates are not quite round and do not sit properly inside the built-in rack. Any ideas as to what size plates (dinner and side) fit the Elddis rack?
lennyhb
Through the plate rack away and stack the plates in the cupboard like you would do at home, that's what we do, most Motorhomes don't have plate racks anyway.
Fellbound
Do you wrap them up in anything when travelling Lenny? I just sort of assumed they would get damaged if not protected. I don't use melamine as a) it's horrid and b) it isn't microwaveable.
lynneroy
Hi Kazzie, we have done what Lennie suggests, got rid of the plate rack and stack them, I bought a fiamma plate stop last week but doesn't fit in our cupboard as Roy has put shelves in. Brock
We stick the plates on top of each other, separated by a tea towel cut and sewn to a square shape. Used that technique for over 20 years with the same tea towels and it works a treat. Be sure your plates can be fit into the cupboards in whatever way you choose. You can buy plate and pan protectors from Lakeland which should work as well. We use these at home for pans but not in the van.
Kazzie
Plate rack removed and plates stacked. Next drive down our country lane will tell if I've been successful............or not! Cured the rattling oven issue by using Silicone Oven Rack Guards on the sides of the oven shelf. Can even be left in situ when the oven is on. Hoping for a rattle-free trip to France in a few weeks time!
