Smithy14 Posted May 12, 2016 Share Posted May 12, 2016 I believe that the change over from battery, EHU and Gas is not working, checked fault finding in instruction and done what was necessary, but still does not work on battery whilst driving, does not change when on auto, OK works on EHU and Gas manually. Dave225 Posted May 12, 2016 Share Posted May 12, 2016 There is always the possibility the element has gone. If you have access to a voltmeter then swiitch it to ohms and connect the leads to the 12 volts cables. If there is a reading then the element is probably ok, if not, it is blown.. If it has gone then a new one is required and that can be a fridge out job depending on model and installation. Again, if it tiurns out to be aswitch, getting to it may still require fridge removal. Colin Leake Posted May 12, 2016 Share Posted May 12, 2016 Mostly work can be carried out through the fridge vents. Ours had a new element and control box fitted by a Thetford engineer under warrenty.
