Hymer Mirror G€uards

Hi all

 

I'm a newbie member but have used the site as a guest for a while.

 

I was wondering if anyone out there knows whether it is possible to get mirror guards for a Jan 2006 Hymer B655 Starline on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I think that the mirror guards that have been discussed on here in the past are specific to the Fiat / Peugeot / type of vehicle.

I have never seen any for the Hymer A class mirrors,  which is on your model of van

I have looked before for these items for our van, and found no joy.

If it's an A Class Hymer (ie. not a standard van cab), I would imagine the wingmirror is made by a specialist manufacturer.

 

Mirrorguard only seem to make their product for standard cab vans. If you are concerned about the wingmirror being hit, a good idea is to make them more visible by applying reflective tape.

 

That's what I do and it seems to help.

You can buy replacement mirror covers and mirror units MHs for Hymer A Class, I've seen them on EBay from time to time - and much cheaper than getting them from a Hymer Dealer.

 

I wouldn't worry about adding protection to a Hymer mirror, they are pretty robust;  I hit an Audi car's mirror with mine a while ago and while mine was undamaged, his was written off.
