Gregors
Hi All. Trust your all well and looking forward to a good summer motor homing !!! I was recently down on Hayling Island at the West Beach car park where we frequent quite alot as you are allowed to stay overnight next to the beach. Great for families. The car park is a great spot to park up with facilities within and even a local pub !!! However on our last visit we saw a Public Notice has been filed to stop or change the parking of motorhomes on Hayling Island to the extreme that they may well be banned all together. This is a great place to go and even features within the Ares book of Europe. I would urge any of you with 5 minutes to click on the link below and just object to this, ( If you agree that is). As once the facility has gone it will be gone forever. Please see below: http://www.havant.gov.uk/proposed-traffic-regulation-orders Thank you in advance Chris
Tracker
Although it is unlikely that we will ever use it I've registered my objection as requested.
SAS
I've filled it in objecting.
AWP
I totally agree good area, filled in the form as "quoted" below, hope we get a positive result. "Please do not change the current parking arrangement for motorhomes, we are a great bunch of people and leave no mess. Some of us even pick up other car drivers rubbish. Kind regards, Allan"
GJH
No need to bother objecting. If you read the downloadable Word documents at http://www.havant.gov.uk/transport-parking-and-streets/current-parking-proposal-consultations you will see that it is simply a matter of the council changing the definition of what constitutes a motorhome for the purposes of use of the overnight facility. The reason is to try to stop abuse by minority. In particular, apparently, there has been somebody living long term in a converted lorry which, because it did not fit the conventional definition of a motorhome, managed to sidestep the existing order. See http://www.haylingtoday.co.uk/news/local/calls-made-to-get-tougher-with-motor-home-parking-on-hayling-seafront-1-7302213. I contacted the council 6 weeks ago when I saw that article and was told "I can assure you that it is not proposed to remove the current provision." ELP
I read the Article as well. The problem with moving all the motorhomes to the skate park area is that there is not enough room to start with and dogs are not allowed on the beach or around the grassy area, so where are we supposed to let them out. At least on the other side, we can let them out on the grass. Does anyone know when this will be enforced?
