veletron
Hi Has anyone got either a Strada EVO or a Strada DL tow ball mounted bike rack on a Ducato PVC? These have a clever sliding mechanism to ease access into the back of the van and I am trying to determine if they will allow the full opening of the rear doors on a Ducato with the rack retracted. Kind Regards Nigel
veletron
Answered my own question with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0h3TSsKO8k4 http://www.fietsendrager-megastore.nl/content/52-fiat-ducato-camper-en-atera-strada-dl-3-fietsendrager So yes, you can open the doors Nigel
brom
Not necessarily! I suspect it depends on the particular towbar fitted. See photo herewith (I hope - if I can work out how to attach it!). However, the DL3 did allow us to access the back of the van, even if it didn't allow the doors to open fully. That's largely because the bike-rack design allows you to get round the back of the rack without difficulty, and the door opens just wide enough. veletron
Cheers for the responses. I bought one, and am able to get the rear door open just fine. My towball is on the lower of the two mounting positions, and has a 25mm spacer. Video here: Nigel

veletron
Not cheap, 380quid Never use euro tunnel, too expensive, never been asked on ferry re gas. You can get the NS door open though close the OS door and clamber over tow bar. If your gas locker on OS then even easier. Nigel
paul2
Hi Much check one of these out. Dose it have to be the three bike rack to leave room or is a two bike one ok I find the tunnel cheap at only £8 return with tescos club card Paul
veletron
If i fit a bike on the inner position, I cannot get the door fully open. I can still get in though as it opens 3/4. We shop in aldi/lidl so save hundreds more each year than the savings the vouchers offer! Better quality fruit/veg too. A few friends use the tesco vouchers though and recon its good. Since I am Driving down from Scotland, I quite enjoy the 2 hours rest on the boat heading over the pond! Last time I fell asleep in the van with her indoors driving, she was following the 'port' symbols on the signposts on the A14, she drove right past the M11 jn and by the time I woke up we were almost in Felixstowe!! Using the tunnel might solve that - as least there is only one! Nigel
