laimeduck
I don't think this was Operation Stack. They invoked Operation TAP between Folkestone and Dover. This was done because of the recent terrorist activity in Nice and throughout France. Quite naturally the French border officials are doing very thorough checks in Dover so the TAP measures were invoked to prevent the town clogging up. It is a pain in the a**e to those of us who live locally, and to holiday makers travelling to the ferries but in this instance I don't blame the French for checking, checking & double checking! After all alot of terrorists are born and bred in the UK! (TAP was Introduced in April 2015, Dover TAP is a temporary traffic management system which queues port-bound lorries in the nearside (left) lane of the A20)
