Pete-B
Hi, We're off too the Caravan Club site at Kendal this week so would appreciate any advice as too good plots to look for or any to avoid. Thanks
Brians dad
Stayed there one night, glad we did not stay longer. Virtually all the pitches are under trees, as the site is in a wood. Everything seemed very dark, certainly no sunlight, and when it rains the trees drip on your unit. Facilities of course are up to usual CC standards, but the site was not for us as it seemed very claustrophobic - but then again, some people prefer to be a bit hidden away and not in a great big field. Brock
If you don't want to be close to children, stay away from the Play Area. If you have mobility issues, then park close to a toilet block because it can be a long walk. It's a busy site and at a peak time you won't get much of a choice of pitch especially if you don't have an awning. Motor Caravan Service Point is on a one way system and you could end up driving site a distance on the narrow access roads watching out for poorly controlled dogs and children. Pitches 125 - 129 suited us in the past but we haven't been for a few years. The site gets good scores so you can expect the usual CC fair with the addition of tree cover everywhere [good birdlife]. It can get very wet. If you didn't know, you can download site information, including site map, from the CC website.
Pete-B
Hi John, Thanks for the tip, we're at Kendal now and managed to get plot 128, brilliant, very wide, plenty of room, not under trees and should get the sun when it comes out, (raining at the moment).
