caggsie
We're off to the balloon festival on Thursday, but may go the evening before, tomorrow evening, to get close to Bristol. Does anyone know of an easy stop, pub, THS, car park where we could park from about 8/9pm? All suggestions gratefully received.

AndyLou
A bit late now I know but useful for next year. We camped at Parsonage Farm it is easy walking distance to the Balloon Fiesta and about £10 per night in public area. We stayed with the MCC for £9.50. The C&CC club also had a rally there. The traffic around he Fiesta especially at night makes being anywhere other than walking distance a nightmare. Andy
caggsie
Thanks, yes we've been there 2 yrs on the trot now and stayed in the Ashton park school with the cc. Very accessible just a walk across the car park. I was aiming to go early evening on the wed and have a stop over enroute, to be close the Bristol on the Thursday.. It didn't happen so we ended up leaving early thurs morning and travelling through Kidderminster before picking up the M5, from North Wales. It was trouble free and we ended up in exactly the same position as last year. Last years weather allowed for balloon flights on each day we were there, the wind proved problematic this year until the Sat eve and Sunday morning, flabby. The cc charged£35 for Thursday-Sunday
