There is a Britstops just outside Callander, has a cafe etc, used as a stop for tour buses during the day but quiet at night. Also large car park next to the river in the centre, well signposted, often see vans there in the morning. There are also a couple of campsites, so well provided.

Hi

Just west of Callander you'll find the village of Kilmahog, and the Laid Inn, turn left, drive past the Laid Inn and you'll find a rural CP on your left. I'm local but have stayed here a few times now. The Laid Inn is 100M walk back down the road and serves excellent food as well as its own real ale.

On a weekday, and provided you are eating in the pub, the Laid Inn will usually let you kip in the CP - far end, near the hedge.

If you head some 10 miles past the Laid Inn (eg after the left turn), there are many spots on the Dukes pass also. (few miles off route but worth a visit), Loch Katrine nearby.

Other possibilities en-route would be:

- Village CP (rural feeling) LHS after entering Strathyre (pub over the road)

- Top of Glen Ogle, LHS where its flat (this is the highest spot after you leave Loch Earnhead)

- Several spots on the road out to Killin (few miles off route)

- Various spots off the road on the other side of the glen Ogle pass (laybys) - this glen is called Glen Dochart - try next to Loch Lubhair

- Close to Crianlarich sign, take left up to forest trails (vans 6M or less only)

- Ben More Lodge car park (if eating, decent food, but no real ale)

- Dalrigh CP (hill walkers rural car park) between Crianlarich and Tyndrum with views over Ben Dubhchraig

- Tourist Info CP LHS far end in Tyndrum

- Glencoe Ski Centre CP (on the gravel RHS if not using campsite facilities) Ramps reqd.

Many, Many more!

Check out the weather before you go (Crianlarich) on our webcam/weather station: www.benmorewebcam.co.uk
