roger20
My 2008 Ducato has started to show a problem with the cooling fan coming on intermittently (bursts of 5-10 seconds or so) immediately after start up and still doing it after the engine is warm. It first happened after putting it back on the road after winter layup. Went away in the van and never noticed it happening again after using it for over a month. Now its back again after lack of use during the last couple of months, although warming up has been static and I haven't driven it again yet. Obviously it doesn't like not being used and some sensor or switch is sticking. Has anyone noticed anything similar and perhaps point to where the problem might be. . euroserv
I know it might seem a little obvious but do you have air conditioning, and is it switched on? The fan will normally run even from cold if the AC is operating. I was just hoping to rule this out first in case your problem is not a problem at all. roger20
Thanks for the advice Nick - sorry for the delay. I hadn't thought of this and will give it a try. One of the reasons for running the engine was to keep the A/C coolant circulating so it may well be this.
roger20
This was the answer - no cooling fan when the A/C is off. Another mystery solved.
