bristol170kj
We are currently spending some time in the warmth of SW France, namely Saint Jean du Luz. Only about 20 minutes from Spain. I'm surprised how many Spanish families have arrived for the weekend / holidays. I always thought it was cheaper in Spain but so many are on the site! I'm not complaining as we love to mix with other nationals, just curious.
Randonneur
No is the short answer, its just like us in England going to Wales, Scotland and Ireland for a change of scenery.
PJay
No French sites are not cheaper, and don't stay open for the whole year, like in Spain. It's also cheaper to shop for food in Spain, France has got very expensive, and not such a wide choice . PJay
Dave225
You are asking a bit of an open ended question. There are some excellent French sites and some diabolical Spanish ones and vice versa. You alos need to consider that you need to travel at least 200 km into Spain before you will see any significant difference in prices. The border areas are similar both sides. Also the climate is more benign in the winters eason the further south you go, so this is a factor in making sites down there more attractive. We have noticed in the last few years that many French, of the older variety, are heading to Spain even from homes in teh Dordogne etc, as again costs and weather pull them down.
