fridge rm4270

A cooling period of 6 hours seems reasonable depending on the initial ambient temperature.

Before going away on a trip, I always put the fridge on 240v for at least 12 hours.

If you have a weak flame at the burner unit, you probably need to replace the jet. Fridges should be serviced every 2 to 3 years, although in reality most people only get this done when the fridge stops working or there is a perceptible fall off in cooling efficiency.

Agree with Geoff. If the flame is allowed to deteriorate not only is the heat output reduced from the flame but if it burns 'sooty' so you can get quite a build up of soot on the inside of the 'chimney' which acts as a insulator.

Sort out the burner so you get a good clean flame and then use a Bottle brush to clean the flue.

A build up of soot can also occur in the flue when any Fridge is used on Gas for just short periods now and again, as the chimney/flue does not get hot enough to burn off the soot.

Hi, The jet assembly is not adjustable, it does not need to be, providing the assembly is clean and a good flame is produced with no yellow flame it will work ok.

If you look at page 2 of the forum "Dometic Fridge problem on gas there is a posting from Clive describing how to clean the jet and flue and I have posted some info on these fridges
