ReesP
We have had a Garmin Novi Euro 660 bought at least 10 years ago with lifetime updating facility (for which we have paid a sum). When we had it at first it was updated on line and we were able to use it for travelling throughout Europe (France, German etc) on one reloading, without the need to update. Then a few years ago we were able only to update from the Garmin website to give regions of Europe, e.g. the UK and northern France. Now ,however, when we try to update it there is a message stating that the memory is too small and we can only update one country e.g. UK. It still works for the UK but it seems that the memory is too small to include other countries and/or Europe as a whole. However, I understand that by adding an additional memory card larger areas can be downloaded. Advice and guidance will be much appreciated. Another1
Should not be a problem. Get a 4gbit SD card, insert it in the card slot and hook up to your computer to do another download. It should work. This has happened to me several times.
Derek Uzzell
Rees Another1’s advice is worth folowing, but there is a good deal of on-line discussion about problems with map-updating of early Garmin Nuvi 660s with limited internal memory. If your elderly sat-nav proves reluctant to play ball even when you’ve stuck an SD card in it, you might be wiser to consider replacing it with a current model with free lifetime updating rather than fiddle about with the old device.
