Ladder Identification

Recommended Posts

I have recently purchased a Bessacarr E435 (2007) with a rear roof access ladder and roof bars. The ladder is mounted on four mushroom bolts with a plate and lock on. The lock is completely seizured up and I need to remove the ladders. I have spoken with Swift re the original build spec (no help there which I believe is not unusual) and the original dealer seller from the factory, neither of them able to idenitfy the make / model of the ladders.

As I can't attach any photos the best description is that they are a two piece folding ladder, the sides are white with a curve over the roof and rest on the roof bars. There is a fixing plate between the ladders that fits over two mushroom bolts that are fitted to the van. The top plate has a lock in the middle that allows them to be unlocked and removed from the van buy lifting them off the fixing bolts.

I have seen these ladders on a number of swift models but not able to get any more info. I have identified the logo on the key as possibly being Remistour (again I've contacted them in Germany but no response)

Any information greatly appreciated and dealers who may have spares.

Many thanks

Ian

Hi Technical & welcome to the forum

Have a look on O'Leary's, Magnum Motorhomes & Leisureshop Direct websites, there may be pictures to help identify.

OR - A local locksmith may be able to remove the lock, freeing up the plate to enable removal of the ladder

Thanks for the response - I've already been to two out of the three you mention with no Luck so I'll try the third one - I've already spoken with a lock smith and removal of the lock is not a problem however replacing it is !! He has not seen the type of barrel lock before and it's not one on his suppliers list.

Thanks
