michaelmorris
We are considering buying solar panel to top up the vehicle battery on our 2003 Boxer motorhome whilst it is kept in storage. At present the one we are looking at is the AA Car battery Solar Charger https://shop.theaa.com/store/home/car-battery-solar-charger This connects to the the 'EOBD plug' in the van. Can anyone tell me where this in our our 2003 Boxer? Thanks
Keithl
Michael, See my answer to your other post. IMO the charger you are looking at will be a waste of money. Keith.
aandncaravan
Michael, I agree with Keith. In the middle of June, in the South of France a 5w Solar panel will output about 0.4 amps between the hours of 05:00 and around 20:00, so 15 hours at 0.4amps = about 7Ah in a whole day. In December in Glasgow (if it's sunny) you will be lucky to get 0.1 amps average from when the Sun gets high enough about 10:00 through to 14:00, so 4 hours at 0.1amps = 0.4Ah. If that keeps a Starter battery charged in Winter then Wales have a chance in the 6 Nations!
