John Tracker
We are changing our Motorhome in March. We are buying an Autotrail Tracker FB and I am going for the 3650kg chassis upgrade. By my understanding this will be registered as Private HGV. Can anybody tell me if it is advantageous to register this in March, it will not be ready for the 1st, or wait until the 1st April when the road tax rules change. Gerry McG
there should be no advantage or disadvantage having it registered in Mar or Apr. The rules for MH are not changing. unless your van is <3500kg AND you have a CO2 value recorded on your final conversion CoC. (this is quite uncommon) if you were <3500kg AND have a CO2 fig on your final COC, there is a big advantage registering your MH before 1st Apr 17 ;-)
Derek Uzzell
Just echoing Gerry’s advice... How the April 1 2017-onwards ‘Road Tax’ regulations will apply to Motor Caravans is summarised in the final posting of this earlier forum discussion: http://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Motorhome-Tax-/45545/
