Hi We bought an auto quest 115 (sunseeker dealer special in 2015 new van)

Previously we had three different auto sleepers all from new over 30 years, the Elddis is the one we have had the least trouble with a little rough around the edges in places but our favourite van so far.

Hi we have an Aspire 255, bought new 01/03/2012 had a few issues at the star but now nearly five years on a comfortable economic unit. Re the 3500 kg if the new ones are the same weight as ours it will not leave you much payload. Ours came with the free upgrade to 3700kg. There are lots of cupboards and storage spaces so it is easy to overload it. We have installed a second battery, LPG tank and an Oyster sat dish and 300 watts of solar panels. Which make long term touring great but all eat into the payload. Whilst the tank empty is lighter the empty gas bottles. We find the Alde heating excellent we have been away in the winter at -12 and been fine. I would say the build quality has not been the best but all round a nice comfy van.

If there is only the two of you it might be worth removing the two travel seats under the front settees to give you a better payload and more storage. Hope this helps, any other questions please just ask.

Hi Dave.

A late response but if you haven't already done so, check out this thread-

http://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Damp-problems-in-Elddis-majestic-175/45964/

..we had a 2007, pre-SoLiD design, 120 Compass(Elddis) and that was very much built down to a budget..and that had, amongst other things, panels lapped the wrong way up, resulting in *rotting timbers, causing corroding spots through it's ali' panels, at just 3 years old.( *and not picked up at annual damp check/service...

Obviously they use a different build process now but presumably they're still designed, nailed together and signed-off,by the same bunch of blokes..?

..and that above thread isn't encouraging.. :-S
