Bulletguy
Bet you all thought yippee a pension increase. It is....but not money! Britons may have to work longer if immigration is cut in the wake of Brexit, according to a warning from the Government’s pension adviser. New calculations reveal a “hard Brexit” in which migration is greatly reduced, could push up retirement ages, potentially forcing people to work well into their mid-70s. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/12/brexit-migration-cuts-could-push-state-pension-age/ Law firm Eversheds Sutherland, which is researching the effect of Brexit on the state pension age, has warned that if the Government fails to raise state pension age amid falling migration, it will have to raise taxes instead. http://united-kingdom.eurodermspa.info/entertainment/brexit-migration-cuts-could-push-state-pension-age-up/
Guest pelmetman
So millions of unskilled EU workers claiming child benefit, housing benefit, tax credits, pressure on schools NHS etc etc........Will have less of a detrimental effect on the public purse, than people claiming their pensions after paying in for decades ?........ Gordon Bleedin Bennet when will you Remoaners give up with your scaremongering? *-) ....... Or at least try and come up with something vaguely believable (lol) .......... "Millions"???!!! LMFAO !!! 2016 figure was down to 1.3 million among which you have the likes of a brilliant post i read on another forum thread over folk like you beefing about "them migrants...i'n it" accusing them of "stealing" british jobs. The poster responded, "well foreign migrants have been doing an excellent job of 'stealing' work from my nephew because the bone idle sod has never done a days work since leaving school twenty years ago....". Spot on !! (lol) You just get ready to start paying out a lot more taxes Dave to keep me comfy in my retirement! (lol) How long before you reach current state pension age? Barryd999
It will be fine because when they kick all the Europeans out they will be shipping in hundreds of thousands of Asians in to replace them. Well thats what the Vote Leave campaign told the Asian communities before the vote. I am sure the Brexiteers will be delighted. :D Of course when we start striking up all these great trade deals with new countries the first thing on these countries list of demands will be wait for it.........Free movement of their people. Or Asians if we want/need to? We will be FREE to decide. As a non-Schengen country UK has always had border controls. If a person has a valid passport no country has a legal right to refuse someone entry unless there is good reason such as criminal history or intent. After all, we are free to travel and enter their countries and i expect people like Pelmet will still want to go swanning off to Spain. Not to mention the many ex-pat Brits living there who only return here to abuse the NHS. It's also worth bearing in mind that the percentage of migration into UK has always been higher from non-EU countries, than EU itself. A lot of Brexit voters don't want to hear that though. Funny but i get the feeling Brexiters would be screeching like mad if the barriers came down to their favourite sun spot countries!

Clearly, some people are going to have more trouble progressing through the stages of grief. But how have Remainers coped with the trauma of the referendum result so far? Now new research from YouGov finds that the highest number of Remain voters are still stuck at the first stage: denial. Nearly a third (32%) of Remain voters say that they don’t believe people in the UK really wanted to leave the EU. :D .......... https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/4hkr5h1vdc/InternalResults_161101_BrexitGrief_W.pdf Its not a case of being in denial or suffering from grief Dave, look at the polls and the facts and see for yourself and we havent even declared we are leaving yet or started to really feel the bite although its coming. Yes I think its the craziest idea ever but ill be alright no matter what happens. I may have less money, less work but Im not bothered about that. Ill survive, many wont. Not as loud as the Spanish if the EU tried to prevent the 17 million Brits who holiday there every year >:-) ...... Freedom of movement.......works both ways see Dave. And it's going to continue here whether you like it or not. It's finally beginning to dawn on Brexiters they aren't going to get anything like they thought they would. Even sunny Huddersfield is on the turn and waking up with over 10% Bregretters! (lol) http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/exclusive-one-10-examiner-readers-12587996 The Tyne Tees poll a few months ago was even more of a swing to remain as were I think 11 out of 13 national polls. And all this before we start. A year or two from now there will only be Dave and Antony left who still want to leave. :D What then? Stick 'em on one of these; http://oi63.tinypic.com/2eg8uas.jpg In the Thames Estuary so they'd feel "at home". Migrant free too......what more could they possibly want? (lol) I am sure the government should follow the wishes of the majority, after all that is what all the Brexiteers have been saying all along. You may find that it is all dropped at the 11th hour and it may not be as difficult as you were lead to believe. ;-) Exactly......except it's not going as well as they'd hoped so the decreasing numbers left may well try and forget they ever said that......a bit like their mate Farage and his call for a second Referendum had it gone 52 Remain and 48 Leave! The number of people who regret voting for Brexit is now greater than the margin of victory for Leave. http://www.businessinsider.com/brexit-vote-regret-leave-margin-victory-2016-10?IR=T North East now wants to stay in the European Union according to our Brexit poll http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/north-east-now-wants-stay-12258741 Sunderland Echo poll shows u-turn on Brexit http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/politics/sunderland-echo-poll-shows-u-turn-on-brexit-1-8282851 Brexit: If EU referendum was held again Remain would win due to 'Bregret', official figures reveal http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-eu-referendum-held-again-second-remain-leave-vote-pound-crash-uk-economy-bregret-a7365561.html Brexit regrets highlighted in new poll http://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2016/11/brexit-regrets-highlighted-in-new-poll.html Why are so many people regretting voting BREXIT? https://www.quora.com/Why-are-so-many-people-regretting-voting-BREXIT Nearly a third of Remain voters still don’t believe people in the UK really want to leave the European Union Follow @YouGov on twitter and stay up to date with the latest news and results Follow The five stages of grief – more properly known as the "Kübler-Ross model" – holds that people going through grief progress through five stages: from denial to anger, to bargaining, to depression, and finally to acceptance. For a significant proportion of the country, the electorate’s decision to take Britain out of the European Union has been very traumatic indeed. Citing the behaviour of some Leave politicians who have opposed British membership of the European project since 1975, some Remainers have threatened to protest the result for years to come. Barryd999
No arguing, just friendly debate. :D Dave, you may not have noticed but stuff is already going up in price due to Brexit which remember hasn't officially started yet. Just out of interest how much are you prepared to pay for your Brexit? 20%, 30%, 50% drop in the pound? Economy down by 1%, 2% ,5%!!! Each percent costs £20bn by the way. Is it worth it at any cost? What about jobs? How many sacrificed is worth the price of Brexit? 100000, 500000, a million!? History shows that whilst the populace likes a good revolution they dont like it if it goes wrong and proves disastrous for them. They will be quick to turn on those that rallied them up I am sure.
