Technical
Hi - ive just purchased a used Ultra 500 storage box for fitting on a cycle rack - it was fitted by the previous owner with four 'U' bolts round the rear carrier rail supports and into the back of the box. There are apparently no fittings to secure it to the cycle carrier wheel rails. From the fitting instructions it looks like it just rests on them !!. Is this correct or do others put fitments through the floor of the box to secure to the cycle wheel rails ? Thanks for opinions

I've taken off the wheel rails and use 2 hook bolts, not U bolts to secure it to the vertical tubes and another 2 bolts to secure it to the horizontal tubes. I made 4 short lengths of old bike tyre, with the bead cut off which are fixed to the tubes with cable ties, just where to bolts hook over, just to help dampen any potential rattles/movement. crocs
I've had the same box with fittings only through the back. Just ensue that the weight is taken on the horizontal. Robert
