UKIP the new party for the working classes?.......

The YouGov poll for The Times gave the Tories a 16-point lead overall, with 40 per cent support, then Labour on 24, Ukip on 14 and the Lib Dems on 11.

But the situation among voters from social classes C2, D and E was even more stark for Labour. Among these voters, viewed as the working class, Labour polled just 20 per cent, behind both Ukip and the Tories.

B-) ...........

In the days when the Trades Union movement and the Labour Party were proud to offer every educational opportunity to their members, they would have made damn sure that their voters knew the benefits of EU membership and why we shouldn't leave.

For decades though, like the Tories, they've been appealing to the lowest human instincts. Instead of leading, they've been watching where the herd is aimlessly moving and tried to follow it. They've abdicated leadership to the media, at its widest, resulting in chaos and discontent. The "bread and circuses" merchants have been allowed to stultify the nation's intellects, resulting in mindless mass bleating about non-existent wrongs and a huge raising of feelings about not very much at all.

These are Thatcher's chickens coming home to roost, nurtured by Blair and Brown and allowed to run wild by Cameron.

Well, I think the working classes aren't going to be too impressed today. Nuttall has just confirmed that he did not lose any close personal friends at Hillsborough, contrary to previous statements on his own website.

He's trying to deny he ever put that on his website! How can anyone trust a politician who can't even control something as simple as his own website?!! *-)

Dear DavePelmet and Anthony,

How can you even try to defend/dismiss what Nuttall did?

Even if you're just using it to wind people up, it's wrong.

It's clear as crystal he used the tragic death of 96 people to make political capital. He didn't swear at someone, he didn't make racist or sexist comments, he used the tragic death of 96 people for his own selfish ends. He didn't give a sh*t about the dead or their family or friends.

Mostly from the "working classes" (OK, that's a guess)

He says he doesn't know how it got on his own website, it's been there since 2011. 6 years for him to notice it, or for one of his friends or family to tell him. Come on, you don't seriously believe it wasn't him that wrote it?

Just admit he's a proper scumbag and move on.

Excellent post.

But expect your questions to be met with much deflection, ducking and diving!

If he's lied about that then its disgraceful ... No defending it ... Lets not try to suggest though he is any different from practically all politicians ... Our friend of Hamas and Hezbollah Jeremy Corbyn hardly sets the highest standards does he ... Leader of a party rife with with anti-semites and lets not forget who he invited to Westminster 2 weeks after the Brighton bombing

Apparently a member of his staff has said it was their fault, and has offered to resign ;-) .........

Our friend of Hamas and Hezbollah Jeremy Corbyn

Is that what he said, or the Daily Mail *-)

I thought it was wrong of Thatcher to bann Sinn Fein from speaking in the media, and to ban their elected MPs from taking their seats in Parliament without swearing their allegiance to the unelected Queen. That does not make me a friend of the IRA.

Except I suppose in the eyes of the Daily Mail etc *-)

So you think it was OK to invite those two to Westminster two weeks after the bombing ??

Don't know what you are talking about. The Sinn Fein MPs were democratically elected. Does that not give them as much right to be in Westminster as the others who have been elected (and more right than those who haven't been elected) Why would they need another invitation to go to Westminster, and who from?
