monique.hubrechtsgm Posted February 22, 2017 Share Posted February 22, 2017 In case you make technical changes to your suspension of a EEC type approved motorhome you have to follow some strict rules. The famous paragraph 19.3. In case of alko air is very simple to their fiat- alko combination because their option is already as a variant in their basic type approval. But only if fitted by alko. They can make a Cop certificate and you pass the DLVA for the car paper work. In case of goldschmitt is different. They have now a tuv approved PDF list for most motorhomes. If fitted by them the tuv make change certificate and witness the rebuild and sign off..And you pass the DLVA. In belgium the Goca will make full test again. Remember just for alko. That pdf includes approval of alko and motorhome builders.Fiat is not mentioned in this list which is normal. They are not involved in this being part one of the sequence. Some motor home owner had a leak in one of the L/R bellows of a single alko rear axle. He tried to pump in air by the 4 emergency valve block under the bonnet. But if you have a air leak no result. That works only if your compressor failed. About the same as your hydraulic 4C feets. Normally you can limp home dropping 19 cm one side in case of single axle. But not this one his wheel arch on the other-side get in contact whit his tire. The wheel arch was not in compliance whit alko as they include this tolerance. Since this was not a retrofit they made a recall. To change the wheel arch the whole side walll l/r needs to be removed. About 6 weeks. looking at the pictures i think it was rapido. Ready to be fitted whit alko air suspension and alko four corner foots. Their is one for sale on this site who have it all.But unable to contact the seller to get some pictures of the under-body and his experience. Derek are you able to get them?
