Bulletguy
This looks interesting. Documentary about the killing of author Helen Bailey. When the renowned writer of children's books was reported missing, her fiancé Ian Stewart claimed that she had simply gone to her holiday home in Broadstairs to 'clear her head'. Later, he was charged with her murder when her body was discovered in a cesspit underneath their home. I only learned about this on Channel 4 news last night and cannot remember the case first breaking. Not satisfied in sharing the wealth of Helen Bailey which she was more than prepared to do, but Ian Stewart got greedy and wanted the lot for himself. How he disposed of her body was horrible. The man is utterly evil beyond belief. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/feb/23/helen-bailey-murder-ian-stewart-jailed-years-killing-author http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-39051242

Being investigated Yes his wife was ruled to have died of natural causes at the inquest, but she was also epileptic so Stuart could easily have made her death appear natural. Unfortunately she was cremated. The man is a greedy b*stard and will rot the rest of his life in a cell. I feel sorry for his two sons who must now be wondering if he murdered their mother. Yes, had the first body cremated!. Sadly we are all going to have to pay to keep him alive! Another case of bring back the death penalty!! It need not be hanging, (barbaric) but a modern way would be injection. PJay

It need not be hanging, (barbaric) but a modern way would be injection. I watched it earlier today and the man is certainly evil beyond belief and it was all over greed......nothing else. Both previously widowed any other man or woman would have been more than happy with finding a new partner. That he found someone who really did genuinely love him made it all the more sad. Already a successful authour which brought her wealth, she was prepared to share her wealth (many wouldn't and would have drawn up 'pre-nups' etc). The reason the police are looking into the death of his first wife seems to be because he'd slowly been drugging Helen Bailey using sleeping pills. They found diary entries she'd made about "feeling drowsy" and "why am i always feeling so tired". I'm not personally an advocate of the death penalty as miscarriage of justice still happens. But something i always found difficult to understand is people forgiving someone whose murdered a partner, husband, wife or close family member..........until i read a case about that and they explained, if you continue hating the hate eventually eats you up and destroys you mentally......also once you stop hating and tell the perpetrator that, they've got absolutely nothing left in their lives. They no longer have any hold over you at all.
PJay
i think that he looked for a WEALTHY woman, not for love/companionship, but as you say GREED . He set out on a mission, probably because , if he did kill his first wife, then he got away with once, so why not try again?? PJay

PJay I felt sorry for his sons as it's inevitable they are bound to question their mothers death. I'm not sure what the police can look into there exactly as there's no body but it's possible they might try to extract further information from him in prison but judging by his deceit and lying over Helen, i don't hold much hope. I wonder if his sons will visit him as that could provide a way open for the police, but frankly i wouldn't blame them if they shunned their father altogether. After all, Helen had welcomed both his sons into her home where they lived.
PJay
In a way the sons are victims of his crime. As the case has been published in papers/TV, I don't expect he will get a warm welcome from other prisoners!!
Bulletguy
PJay - 2017-02-24 10:56 PM In a way the sons are victims of his crime. As the case has been published in papers/TV, I don't expect he will get a warm welcome from other prisoners!! Yes they are. There are always other innocent victims, often unseen, from someones evil criminality. I remember watching an American murder trial of a man who murdered his young wife. He attempted to mislead police into believing it was her ex-boyfriend by scrawling the letters ROC in her blood on the wall but police were suspicious over it as when examined by forensics, they already knew she wrote left handed and from the position of the body it would have been impossible for her to write it. They traced the ex-boyfriend whose name was Rocky and he had a strong alibi. When they pulled his mobile phone records he went from strong alibi to innocent in an instant because they proved he was over 200 miles away at the time of the murder! So they charged her husband and even in court he continued denying it! His mother was in court and he was her one and only child. She told how it tore her life apart but during the trial one of the murdered girls brothers came over and spoke to her saying, "my family know how you feel, we've lost our sister and you are going to lose your son...that's not your fault". She said she never forgot those words.
