hagrid
It is only the Loch Lomond and Trossach National Park that has introduced legislation to limit wild camping, the rest of Scotland remains as it was.

Robbo
The whole of Scotland seems to be littered with no-overnight camping signs. We toured for a month, a few years ago in May. Apart from it raining every day, the campsites were overly expensive for what they provided, as were the restaurants. The CC (CMC) sites were full to overflowing although we managed to squeeze into a few CCC sites and privately owned sites. It was a one-off experience we wouldn't have missed but we won't be returning in a hurry. We met an American tourist and he was less than impressed with the inflated prices. The Scottish tourist board needs to seriously consider promoting their country to encourage repeat visits by motorhomers and overseas tourists alike. I suppose it's such a relatively short tourist season for the Scots, they feel it necessary to rip-off the visitors to see them through the winter season !!! Returning to Skye, we stayed at the campsite in Dunvegan overlooking the inlet, close to the village. Good bakery in the village and a restaurant (need to book). There are undoubtedly many wild camping spots on Skye, providing you're discreet. Seem to remember there was an article by a wild life enthusiast (possibly MMM) who wild-camped all over Skye without any problems.
