kevandali
Hi All.In the process of joining the AA and because we will be the member and not the cars, I thought that our motorhome would be covered. It is but only if it does not exceed 3500kg and no more than 2.3m wide. How do you lovely lot cover your vans for breakdown in the UK and especially when in France? European cover is only up to a maximum length of 7.0m Any help much appreciated:-)PS, who are you with? what do you recommend?
rooster63
Hi, I bank with Nationwide and have their Flexplus account which is £10pm (works out less than that as they pay interest on any money deposited in that account). That gives you, Worldwide Travel Insurance (up to 75yrs old) European Breakdown cover, Motorhomes up to 8m and 7.5 tons, mobile phone insurance and also 2 year cover for appliances. Have used them twice 2 rescue my 6m campervan, they use local agents/recovery specialists. http://www.nationwide.co.uk/products/current-accounts/landing-page/flexplus?search_GOOGLE_71700000017226642_nation+wide+flex+plus&gclid=CLDGh83G09MCFY8y0wodi24M6w
AliB
Eurpoean breakdown cover with Caravan Guard. No size or weight restrictions. I have only had to use them once in the UK. A nice big recovery vehicle turned up and took the motorhome (7.4 metres 400Kg) to the garage of my choice.
monique.hubrechtsgm
It can be well the case that your continent visits in price will rise.
david lloyd
For the last seven years been insured with Comfort and used their European wide breakdown (RAC) which covered the 7.4m, 3850 kg van and cost an additional £60.50p. Now moved to Caravan and Motorhome Club with slightly better cover and slightly cheaper. Have used their Mayday cover (Green Flag) for the UK at an extra £70.50p. For Europe we will be using their Red Pennant Motor and Personal cover. David
jobboyce
We use Safeguard and it is all included in the policy price UK & Europe breakdown / recovery. Worth getting a quote if only to compare.

daviddwight
Safeguard for us they use the AA certainly on the Continent no problem with length, but if MH is over 3500kg you do not get accommodation cover.
