Roddy
Hi, I have recently purchased an Autotrail Apache 700 2015 reg with a towbar and towball. I want to fit a carrier for two bikes to either the ball or towbar itself but am concerned about the clearance to the spare wheel pod, if i purchase online it may not work. Anybody got similar bike carriers or any recommendations please, thanks .
Cruisecontrol
We too looked at an Auto Trail (Tracker in our case) to replace our lovely Cheyenne 740, but found the spare tyre cover limited the type of bike rack that could be fitted. Our search revealed the Fiamma Pro as suitable but it would seem to be limited to 40kg weight. Our EBikes have a combined weight of 44kg so we had to think again Hope this helps. crocs
Would a tiltable bike rack work? Something like: https://www.thule.com/en-gb/gb/bike-rack/towbar-bike-racks/thule-velospace-918-_-918000
Robbo
The Thule type bike rack can be extended to accommodate a rear mounted spare wheel using adapter 9042. Check out this link http://www.roofracks-roofboxes.co.uk//
mgnbuk
I carry two Dutch style electric bikes on one of these : http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.php/car-specific-accessories/atera_strada_sport_m_2_to_3_bike_carrier_no_ar2684/Qx%40w%2C6M42VAwp3%40Rb%7B%7EcC4ure5CWYj Towball mounting, tilting & rated to carry 60kg. Easy to fit, easy to put the bikes on & stable. I chose this one because of the frame clamp arrangement that accomodates large diameter frame tubes. The carrier clamp mechanism locks the unit to the towbar & the frame clamps lock also. I think their quoted weight is optimistic, though - nearer 16Kg than 13.5. rupert123
I have just bought a Thule 916 which takes two electric bikes, carry weight 60kg. Should fit with extender as has been mentioned. Heavy old lump but really well made and on special offer from Decathalon for £260.
