BruceM Posted May 13, 2017 Share Posted May 13, 2017 I’m wondering if anyone has ever taken the interior door panel off the drivers door of a Dethleffs or similar. Mine’s a 2003 esprit (i5830). I need to take the panel off to service the door mechanism. I’ve attached a number of photographs. The key points are: 1. The panel is a continuous moulding that all the way around rests under the lip of an aluminium frame (see pics). 2. There are three screws at the hinge side (picture Detail_1) which I took off and partially allow that side to come free. 3. There are two bolts holding the black horizontal pull handle in the middle of the door – I took those out. 4. There is a small screw holding the plastic door release surround – I removed that. 5. The glove box is only attached to the moulding. After this I’d hoped that I’d then be able to gentle flex the moulding and ‘pop’ the rest of it out from under the aluminium lip but it will not move.
