sandalwood
My drop down bed ' squeaks' a lot when pulling down, and seems to be "rather stiff" Is there anyway of oiling to prevent this? What oil and where? Replies much appreciated! *-)
Robbo
My drop-down bed squeaked a lot when travelling, especially on uneven roads. Sprayed all the pivot points with silicone and pulled it up and down a number of times until the squeak was cured. Might be a good idea to lube the ends of the power assisted struts as well. monique.hubrechtsgm
Power Struts or gas springs are self lubricated. They have oil inside. normally the drop down is bascule system.

However, there should be a gas assisted strut either side of the bed, like this: http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gas-struts
