stvekay
We were staying at Malo les Baines Dunkirk earlier this week. A Belgian motorhomer informed us it was likely to close, there was a meeting scheduled for Wednesday with the Mayor. Apparently a lady in the flats was trying to get it closed as people were dumping toilets in the dunes. It was alleged 30% of people do it? I find that figure hard to believe, although a couple of years ago someone had dumped in the rubbish bin. She did say there was a facebook page opened trying to save it. We noticed toilet dumping at Le Hourdel and they have now reduced the area for Motor Homes. Shame the minority spoil it for the Majority. Derek Uzzell
Based on this campingcar-infos entry http://www.campingcar-infos.com/Francais/cci.php?numero=19256 ‘long stay’ motorcaravanners have for at least two years been dumping toilet-cassettes and waste-water in the dunes. This used to be a persistent problem in the south of France by the Med with a widespread ban on motorcaravanners parking close to the sea being the predictable consequence.
