Hi pmitic, I think you need to be a little clearer on what insurance cover you're looking for if you want folks to help. By mentioning the motorhome it seems it is vehicle insurance but there are other things like health and breakdown etc. also the specific countries and duration of the tour will make a difference.

All the above insurance are available, among others, from Comfort Insurance.  They are very helpful and responsive, seem competetive on prices, understand motorhomer's needs, and sell bespoke Norwich Union policies.

Do check your home contents and buildings insurances as well, though, since many reduce or withdraw cover if you are away for more than 30 days, some 60 days.  Comfort can provide the cover against extended absences on both contents and buildings, if needed.

I'm just a satisfied customer, incidentally.

I agree with Brian - Comfort are excellent and I was with them for many years. However, they are not competitive on all types/costs of motohome and I found their House/Contents Insurance cost 2.5 times a similar policy direct from Norwich Union.

So the message is: shop around.

Consider ONLY motorhome specialist insurers. The best seem to be Comfort, Safeguard, Bakers of Cheltenham (also Norwich Union but with a completely different policy). Make sure you speak to one of the experienced specialists and not to some young lady sitting in front of a screen wearing a headset!

As you give no indication of how long your absences from the UK are likely to be, it is difficult to give further advice. However, bear in mind that, legally, you are only allowed to imprt your vehicle into another EU country for a maximum of 6 months before you have to re-register it in that country. Popping over the border and back (eg from Spain into France and back) does not create another 6 month period.
