flyboyprowler
There was a post back in 2015 concerning Euro road maps. We are heading off to Germany and Italy in 2 weeks time, so does anyone recommend either the Michelin or the Phillips spiral bound atlas, and why? Brian Kirby
The AA used to publish a very good 1:150,000 scale road map of Germany in conjunction with ADAC (in fact it is the ADAC map with an AA cover). Don't know if they are still available, but if they are, I think difficult to beat. For Italy I still use a set of Touring Club Italia 1:400,000 road atlases. North, Central, and South. I assume they've been updated since and are still in publication. Try Stanfords or similar specialist shops. Right or wrong, I prefer to get road maps published by a native publisher wherever possible, on the basis that they should be more up to date, and will also give the local spelling of place names instead of an Anglicised version (i.e Roma instead of Rome).
