Globecar are getting quite a following, I use another forum and quite a few members own Globecars and are very happy with them.

We have a 2017 Globecar Campscout with a massive fixed bed and loads of storage underneath, it also has a 90 litre compressor fridge.

We've done just over 2,000 miles in it since April and nothing as broken or dropped off, I was interested in a Malibu originally but the new one we went to look at the bathroom door handle was broken and also when you opened or closed the bathroom door the wall moved.

Globecar have quite a few models on offer and the choice between them is hard, the 6400 chassis are the heavy chassis with 16" wheels.

The Malibu is a dearer motorhome than the Globecar.

John.

Hi all

A friend of ours is considering a motor-home, ( doesn't use this forum though??)

His choice is a panel van conversion, 2 choices

A Malibu or a globecar

Any opinions over which is the better van ???

Cheers

Do you know why he has restricted his choices to those two brands? Almost all coachbuilt converters are now also marketing PVCs, and there is a huge range. Has he considered Knaus, for example, but others from Hymer, Burstner, Hobby etc.? On a like for like basis, he will find the Malibu quite a bit more costly than the Globecars, although the Globecars are a bit lower in spec in areas such as their fridges, which tend to be the basic, manual ignition, model, rather than the AES models in Malibu and others.

Globecars come now with compressor fridges ours is 90 litre including freezer.

HObby Vantana's are eye level fridges in place of overhead lockers and don't have a freezer compartment they're also on the light weight chassis.
